Data Logging Sound Level Meters

Features

Overview

Data Logging Sound Level Meters provide the common functions required for both Industrial and Environmental noise surveys including Leq, Ln's and Lmax, these instruments can either print the readings out directly or be downloaded to a PC using the supplied software.

These meters can be used to measure two types of data, Events and Short Leq elements. Events can be started and stopped manually using the keypad or by programming the instrument using the 60Setup software. All the events have measurement parameters associated with them, these parameters can be defined by the operator, again using the software provided. Each event is identified by the start and stop time as well as having a unique number. The instrument is also capable of calculating the LEP,d for each event, thus the meter can be used to calculate personal noise exposure.

The duration of Short Leq's is again user defined and can range from 1/16 of a second to 16 seconds. This history can then be downloaded and analysed statistically using additional software to provide further information regarding the type of noise levels measured. The time history allows further data to be calculated for any time period included in the readings after the initial measurements have taken place.

Pulsar 63 and 64 come complete with the 60Setup software as standard; this allows stored Events and Short Leq data to be downloaded from the instrument to a PC via the RS232 serial ports. 60Setup comes with default measurement parameters of the instrument, which can be saved and recalled at any time. Once downloaded the Short Leq data can then be used to help produce a report for a noise profile of the measured period. The 60Setup software can also be used to programme the sound level meter to automatically stop and start events.
